Surround yourself with success
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” - Jim Rohn
If you surround yourself with people who love to gossip about sports and Hollywood, you probably won’t get inspired with the next million dollar idea. If your friends all talk about how terrible life is and all the circumstances that led to their demise, you too will probably fall into the victim circumstance and never be empowered to be in charge of your life. And if those around you are cynical and always doubtful of anything you come up with, you may not follow through on your ideas.
But if you hang out with people who are successful, who love to discuss ways to succeed and ideas that could turn into the next best thing, imagine what you could become. Practice makes perfect, and the more you practice success, brainstorming, and fostering ideas, the better you get at it. And successful people enjoy helping others become successful. Hanging out with successful people will breed more successful people.
You can find successful people by attending conferences, meetup groups, entrepreneur groups, chamber of commerce, business associations. There are also book clubs that read books such as Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” or Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad Poor Dad.” Join investment groups for stocks or real estate even if you are not interested in investing, just to learn how they speak and the seminars they provide. Go to success seminars. There are many ways to get involved in groups of people who have the success mentality.
